Distance education, or distance learning, is a field of education that focuses on the pedagogy/andragogy, technology, and instructional systems design that are effectively incorporated in delivering education to students who are not physically "on site" to receive their education. Instead, teachers and students may communicate asynchronously (at times of their own choosing) by exchanging printed or electronic media, or through technology that allows them to communicate in real time (synchronously). Distance education courses that require a physical on-site presence for any reason including the taking of examinations is considered to be a hybrid or blended course or program. Distance Learning Degree: MBA, College, Courses. Earning an online bachelor’s degree can help you do better at your job and become eligible for promotions. Many upper-level positions are only offered to applicants that have completed bachelor degrees. Earning an online BA can give you the chance to learn new skills and learn about a subject you are passionate about. Additionally, studies have shown that the average college graduate makes approximately one million dollars more during his or her lifetime than the average high school graduate.
